A damp patch or drip identifies where water became visible, not necessarily where it entered. Assessment considers the pitched or flat roof covering, slipped or damaged tiles and slates, ridges, verges, chimney flashing, drainage and nearby junctions before a roof leak repair is proposed.
A contained pitched-roof repair may be appropriate where the defect is limited and the surrounding covering remains serviceable. Recurring water ingress, widespread deterioration or unsuitable adjoining materials can require broader investigation before repair or replacement is recommended.
Active water ingress or unsafe displaced material can be raised through the Emergency Roof Repairs route. Attendance depends on current availability, access, travel and safe working conditions; other defects can follow the planned assessment and quotation process.
