This notice explains how Skycraft Roofers Ltd collects, uses and protects your personal information when you contact us, request a quotation, or otherwise get in touch about roofing work.
1. Who we are
Skycraft Roofers Ltd ("Skycraft", "we", "us", "our") is registered in England and Wales, company number15908884. Our registered office is Unit 2, 20 Woodland Avenue, Slough, England, SL1 3BU. This is our registered office only — it is not a customer-facing branch, showroom or Surrey office, and enquiries about roofing work should not be sent there.
If you have a question about this notice or how we handle your information, contact us at [email protected].
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you get in touch, we may collect:
- your name;
- your telephone number;
- your email address;
- your full address, if you choose to give one;
- the service you're enquiring about;
- a description of the enquiry or work you'd like us to consider;
- any photographs or documents you choose to upload with your enquiry; and
- limited technical and security data processed automatically by the hosting and anti-spam systems that keep this website and its enquiry form working safely (see "Cookies and similar technologies" below).
3. Where we collect it from
- the quotation form on this website;
- telephone;
- email;
- WhatsApp; and
- direct communication with you about a roofing enquiry.
4. What we use your information for
- responding to your enquiry;
- assessing your roofing requirements;
- preparing a quotation;
- arranging and carrying out agreed work;
- maintaining our customer and business records;
- preventing fraud, abuse, and protecting the security of our website and enquiry systems; and
- meeting our legal and accounting obligations, for example keeping records our accountant or HMRC may require.
5. Our lawful bases
We rely on the following lawful bases under UK data-protection law:
- steps you ask us to take before a contract — for example, assessing your enquiry and preparing a quotation;
- performance of a contract — once you instruct us to carry out agreed work;
- legitimate interests — handling enquiries generally, running and securing our business and website, and preventing misuse of our enquiry form, balanced against your rights and interests; and
- legal obligation — for records we're required to keep, such as accounting and invoicing records.
6. Who we share your information with
We share personal information with a small number of providers who help us run this website and respond to enquiries:
- Cloudflare, who host this website and provide security and anti-abuse protection for it;
- Resend, who deliver quotation-form enquiry emails on our behalf;
- the email provider hosting the mailbox we use to receive enquiries;
- our website development and support provider, who may receive a copy of enquiry emails to help confirm the enquiry system is working correctly; and
- professional advisers (such as our accountant), insurers, regulators or law-enforcement authorities, but only where necessary or where we are legally required to.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for other businesses' marketing.
7. International transfers
Some of the technology providers we use to run this website, such as Cloudflare and Resend, may process data on servers located outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent measures required by UK data-protection law, as part of their standard service.
8. Marketing
We do not currently send marketing emails, marketing text messages or marketing WhatsApp messages. If this changes in future, we will only do so in line with the law, and you will always be able to opt out.
9. Analytics and advertising
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use this website. Its Enhanced Measurement can record page views, scrolling, outbound link clicks, supported embedded-video engagement, file downloads and form interactions. Automatic form interaction events describe behaviour in the form funnel; they do not confirm that an enquiry was delivered or accepted as a customer lead.
We also measure clicks on our telephone and WhatsApp links. The owner-only project submission form may emit an operational analytics event after successful submission, but it is not treated as a customer lead. A public quotation enquiry is counted as a lead only through a separate server-side event after our email delivery provider confirms success, and only when analytics consent and a valid analytics identifier were supplied. Until that server-side integration is configured, no confirmed-lead event is sent.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
The Google tag uses Advanced Consent Mode. Before you choose, analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation are all denied. Google may receive limited cookieless consent and measurement signals, but analytics cookies or storage are not permitted at that stage.
If you select “Accept analytics”, analytics storage is granted and GA4 may set analytics cookies or use equivalent browser storage. Advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation stay denied. If you reject analytics, all four remain denied. Your choice is saved in browser storage so the site can respect it; you can change or withdraw it at any time using “Analytics settings” in the footer.
Cloudflare, our hosting and security provider, may separately use technical measures, including cookies, that are strictly necessary to protect the site against abuse; these are not used by us for marketing.
11. How long we keep your information
- General enquiries that don't lead to work being carried out are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Where you become a customer, or where we issue an invoice or enter into a contract with you, we keep the related records for up to 6 years, in line with normal accounting and legal requirements.
- Any photographs or documents you send us are kept together with the related enquiry, and are deleted under the same schedule as that enquiry — they are not kept separately or for longer.
12. Your rights
Under UK data-protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for access to the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete your information, in certain circumstances;
- ask us to restrict how we use your information, in certain circumstances;
- object to us using your information where we rely on legitimate interests;
- ask for your information to be provided to you or another organisation, where this applies; and
- withdraw consent, where we rely on consent as our lawful basis.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected].
13. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, please contact us first at [email protected] so we can try to put things right.
You also have the right to complain to the UK's data-protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
14. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet, and no method of electronic storage, is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
15. Children's information
This website and our services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
16. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time, for example if our processes, providers or the law change. The current version is always available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown above.
